My name is Nathan, but I go by the alias Nathiola for branding purposes. I’m primarily an oil painter from England, however my body of work includes a plethora of other methods of creation, like video making, and animation, and writing.
I focused on painting in August 2024 because I needed to make a living, and while it’s fun to make videos and write and animate, doing all of them at once without a singular focus will likely prove difficult to do for a living. So one day I sat down and decided I needed to choose one thing to get really good at, which would become my sole method of earning money. I decided that in an era of difficulty for most creative ventures, painting was going to be the easiest to generate a revenue from. So I pulled up my bootstraps and started learning how to paint. It has since become a beloved method of expression, and I have created many works I am proud of.

Throughout my decision to host a website one thing was always clear: that it must resemble a personal website from the early 00’s. I miss the old internet before it was largely reduced to monetization and the same four apps. So this is reconciling with that lost love, and serves to be a growing monument to an era that is long gone.
I’d like this to be a place for people to participate in too, I am not a person of any particular fame or status, but I welcome any passers by to engage with the website (which currently means sending me an email) and add their own artwork, or participate in some other capacity that I’ve set up, which i hope one day includes competitions.
My main goal is authenticity, I don’t want to play a character when representing myself and my work on the internet. I want to be authentically me, with the bad stuff, the good stuff, and everything inbetween. I am a person, and I think in these coming years, it’s going to be more important than ever to be real, to be yourself, not manufactured authenticity, but straight up idgaf. Similarly, Nothing I make has anything at all to do with generative AI, I also do not engage with things that have been made using it. This is a distinctly human space.
I’m always open to suggestions and help with things, if there’s any reason at all you need/want to contact me, there’s an email on the contact page. It’s also nice to know that someone’s just out there looking at things I upload.
